In my attempt to stay up to date with my profession I attend conferences from time to time (latest being the Emerce conversion training in Amsterdam) or watch live shows (such as Which Test Won) if I couldn’t make it to the conference.
Searching the web for interesting articles I stumbled upon some movies on User Experience of which I made a small selection. Here are my five favorite movies on User Experience.
Editorial side note: You are more interested in reading about User Experience instead of watching these videos? Maybe you can have a look at my selection of UX books.
A world renowned expert on the subject of choice and author of “The Art of Choosing: The Decisions We Make Everyday”, Dr. Sheena Iyengar’s research on how and why we choose, and what we need to do to choose better, has surprising and profound implications for our personal and professional lives.
With fascinating new research, Sheena Iyengar demonstrates how businesses (and others) can improve the experience of choosing.
Explaining and convincing your stakeholdings of the value of User Experience is not always easy. Dr. Susan Weinschenk from Human Factors International (HFI) and author of “Neuro Web Design: What makes them click” has published this video in where she explains the value of Usability and User Experience in terms of Return on Investment (ROI). Lot’s of great stuff.
Both James and Cennydd are well known writers in the field of User Experience (Undercover User Experience Design) and frequently asked as public speakers. In their talk at the 2011 Tech4Africa conference they explored the past, present and future of UX design, by illustrating the lessons they’ve learned when introducing UX in both big and small organisations.
Dan Norman, co-founder of the Nielsen Norman group (User Experience/Usability consulting firm) and well respected author of many books, talks about how beautiful, fun and emotional design can make the users happy. He explains in his own humorous way how real people interact with design and explores the relation between what a designer intends and what a regular person actually wants.
Whitney Hess, a well-known user experience consultant, writer and public speaker takes you on a whirlwind of tips and ideas to make better designs and improve the User Experience. And all of that in just over five minutes, great stuff.
These were my favorite movies on User Experience. Let me know if you have some of your own as well!
